A tribute to the beginnings of shaving culture as well as to the origins of the MÜHLE manufactory – the shaving brushes from the CLASSIC line with their traditional, slightly bulbous shape. Because some like it more opulent, while others swear by sleeker formats, the timeless brushes are available in ring sizes of 19, 21, 23 mm and partially 25 mm. The Silvertip Fibre® or silvertip badger trimming is handmade. All brush heads feature a fine black band around the shimmering, silver-coloured hair, which connoisseurs and experts alike call a mirror. THE MATERIAL - High-grade resin
High-grade resin is a high-quality synthetic material, the surface of which is processed and refined separately. The material is ideal for exclusive accessories and writing implements because it facilitates a broad spectrum of modern and classical designs in many attractive colours.
To begin with, the aesthetic basic shapes for brush and razor handles are turned out of solid rods. Then each individual work piece is polished in several passes to give the surface its special gleam. From golden brown to ruddy, with subtle or vivid veining in the grain: The burl of the sandarac tree, or Barbary thuja as it is also known, is regarded as one of the most valuable and most beautiful woods in the world. The strongly grained root burl only grows to a respectable size once the tree has died.
The tuber is therefore hide to find and to recover. The scantlings are picked by hand and turned. Only sections displaying an exceptionally beautiful grain are used. While being made into handles the wood is stabilised and coated with high-grade resin in a special procedure. This makes it water-resistant and hard-wearing. The high-gloss surface very expressively accentuates the individual veining of the grain.

The particularly beautiful wood of the masur birch comes from trees in the tree-line regions of the far north. Due to the harsh climatic conditions, the growth height is low and the wood develops an exceptionally rich grain. The precious wood has therefore been traditionally worked to create decorative objects.

THE MATERIAL - OLIVE WOOD
Since ancient times, olive wood has been valued for its outstanding material characteristics and warm colouring. It is to be found throughout the Mediterranean region and has been used for centuries to make durable goods or artistic objects.
The wood we use must be dried carefully for months before the handles are turned. We then sand the surfaces, seal them with oil and polish them to a silky finish. This brings out the gentle, honey-coloured grain of the wood particularly well.
